Moon Festival Trilogy Tour 2023

Our Moon Festival Trilogy Tour concluded with resounding success! From September 16th to 30th, on every Saturday, we hosted culture tours at local libraries, providing the Mid Autumn/Moon Festival experience to over 50 families and hundreds of attendees. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all three hosting libraries, including Jones Library & Branches and Forbes Library. It was a delightful experience for both our volunteers and the smiling attendees. 😊🫶🥮🐰🌕

Here are thoughts from two of our volunteers who participated in these tours:

Mr. Heng documented the event beautifully in Chinese with accompanying pictures. You can read his piece here:

Ms. Ye Li portrayed Chang'e during the tour, the lonely beauty who resides in the moon as a result of selfishness. Below are her reflections.

In order to make all friends better understand The cultural connotation of our Chinese traditional festivals makes everyone feel the fine traditions of the Chinese nation in the activities. The Western Massachusetts Chinese Association organized and successfully organized the Mid-Autumn Trilogy in three different libraries.

Traditional festivals are an important part of Chinese culture. The combination of traditional festival fairy tale performances, children's lantern making, mooncake making and tasting, and Chinese calligraphy writing and other fun activities makes me, as a volunteer, have a strong sense of identity and pride in our national culture.
